Julie came by her love of the West naturally.

Born into a family rich with Western entertainers, she understood early on how very hard they worked their craft & how very happy their work made others.

Everybody loves a cowboy.

That's why she happily spends her time these days bringing that happiness to others, by working to preserve Western Heritage. She produces live events; most benefiting charities all around U.S.and likes the Western ones the best!

She recently curated museum displays featuring her family which are currently on display at The Lone Pine Museum of Film History & The Rex Allen Museum.

She's currently at work producing her new awards show, the Western Legends Awards, which, for its first three years appeared as a part of Rex Allen Days.

Beginning in 2012, she will begin presenting awards in Rex's honor at various events all around the country.

The first of these presentations took place at the Hopalong Cassidy Festival May 5, 2012, and was presented to veteran actor, Hugh O'Brian.

Julie also acts as panel moderator at many events all over the globe; Lone Pine Museum of Film History, Rex Allen Days, & more.

In September 2010, Julie, along with Leonard Maltin, moderated the panel discussions at

Republic Pictures BIG 75th Anniversary Celebration.

She has also acted as panel moderator for the

Palm Springs WESTFEST & Design EXPO in March 2011, FESTIVAL OF THE WEST 2010 in Scottsdale, the HOPALONG CASSIDY FESTIVAL 2011 in Cambrige, OH, and more.

Julie was born into Hollywood - her grandfather was Taylor "Cactus Mack" McPeters and she is also related to Rex Allen and Glenn Strange, who played Sam the bartender on GUNSMOKE. Ben wrote the award-winning book GUNSMOKE: AN AMERICAN INSTITUTION and together, both he and Julie contributed to the book PERFECTLY AMANDA - the story of Amanda Blake who played Miss Kitty onGUNSMOKE. Ben and Julie have plenty of stories to share and special Hollywood guests who worked on the show will be on hand to add their perspectives on GUNSMOKE."
